I COVID-19 has put a huge cramp in the summer camp style, but keep these folx in mind when things get better!

More awesome resources for queer teens in NC!

PFLAG Winston Salem was recently introduced to QUORDS: Queer Oriented Radical Days of Summer (a music and art camp for queer teens in NC).

The QUORDS mission statement reads: “By empowering Southern queer youth and building community through music and the arts, QORDS is a vehicle for expressing gender and sexuality, and harbors an environment of self-discovery and social change.”  QUORDS was founded in August 2012 and held the first overnight camp in Lenoir, NC in July 2013.  They have an excellent staff of supportive counselors and often a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio of counselors to campers!  

As of this year they’re offering two sessions in the summer. 

• Session 1 for youth ages 12-14 will run July 19- 24, 2020. 

• Session 2 for youth ages 15-17 will run July 26 – July 31, 2020.

We know it’s a little late for registration this year, but we hope to spread the word for next year’s campers!
